WHAT A SESSION LOOKS LIKE

We only work with a select group of athletes in-person. See below to learn exactly how we structure each group training session and if this is the right program for you.

Start training

ONGOING ASSESSMENT

As you begin training you’ll undergo an initial assessment to understand the why behind your performance. From there, each session we’ll track key metrics like your mobility, strength, readiness, and more to build an evolving picture of your athletic profile.

MOBILITY WARMUP

Based on your unique demands, the sessions training objectives, training phase, and various other factors, our staff will structure a customized mobility warmup to prep you for the session. You’ll be guided through this step-by-step ensuring proper technique is followed and range of motion adaptations are taking place.

SPEED & AGILITY

Once primed for the day, most sessions will include a speed & agility component before you move into the weight room. This will be periodized and progressed depending on time of year, training history, and numerous other factors.

STRENGTH & CONDITIONING

Next, the bulk of your session will be spent in the weight room working through an individualized strength & conditioning training plan. Here you will receive coaching on exercise technique that you can implement on your own while following the provided monthly programming for you.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Need more information? View some commonly asked questions about in-person training at True North.

How does small group training differ from individual training?

The small group environment is very similar to individual training, as we apply the same training principles, but focus on exercise prescriptions that will work best for everyone involved. There still may be some variation from athlete to athlete depending on mobility limitations, injury history and training age.

What is the maximum group size?

For a small group setting, we prefer to have a maximum of 1:10 coach to athlete ratio. This ensures training quality is up to our standards.

Who do you recommend small group training for?

Small group training typically works well with younger athletes, as they need to master the foundations of performance training. The group environment also helps create a positive, team environment for those new to the gym.
